Working in the financial services industry, as a lawyer and legal counsel, for over 20 years, Sofia has had the opportunity to work both with the regulator, the CMVM, the Ministry of Finance Cabinet and as a lawyer for major banks, investment companies and other market players, such as rating agencies, central securities depositaries, settlement systems, issuers, venture capital companies, collective investment schemes and the government. This diversified experience has given Sofia a unique view of the financial sector and a strong knowledge of the financial industry on both a technical and a practical perspective. Sofia has a vast experience in large transactions, such as structured facilities, securitisations, covered bonds, public and private offerings and also in compliance, regulatory and governance matters.
Sofia is good at problem-solving and in finding cost-effective solutions that reflect the client's uniqueness and allow for a correct balance of the client’s risk profile.
Sofia is a Consultant to CTSU since 2011.
Sofia is the author of several books and articles and is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences on topics related to her areas of expertise.
Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1999.
