Legal Alert no.50 – Amount of the minimum monthly wage for the year of 2018

On the past December 28^th, it was published, in the Portuguese Official Gazette, Decree-Law no. 156/2017, which establishes in € 580,00 (five hundred and eighty euros) the amount of the minimum monthly wage guaranteed as from January 1^st, 2018.

In addition, this Decree-Law foresees that employees with a public employment relationship, whose salary corresponds to a wage inferior to the minimum monthly wage, shall receive monthly the amount of € 580,00 (five hundred and eighty euros).

Decree-Law no. 156/2017, dated from December 28^th, revokes Decree-Law no. 86-B/2016, dated from December 29^th.

This Decree-Law enters into force on January 1^st, 2018.
