Jacinto Bettencourt is the new partner at CTSU  

Jacinto Moniz Bettencourt joins CTSU and will lead the role of Head of IP, Digital, Technology, TMT and Privacy legal team (“Digital Law & IP”).

Jacinto has over 20 years of experience of law practice, focused on development and execution of adding value strategies to technological assets, developing national supply chains, collaborative logic and promoting national incorporation, both from a legal and management/business perspectives.

Jacinto was Head of IP, IT, TMT and Privacy legal practice of Uría Menéndez where he practiced more than six years. Between 2017 and 2019, Jacinto was also Of Counsel | Head of IP, IT, Digital and Technology practice area in the Portuguese law firm Campos Ferreira, Sá Carneiro & Associados.

From 2011 to 2017, Jacinto acted as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EEA-Empresa de Engenharia Aeronáutica SA, managing the national participation in Embraer’s KC 390 program as part of the national strategy for developing and consolidating a Portuguese aeronautical cluster.

During the last years, Jacinto has been acting as Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors & Steering Committee Valorisation Unit in CEiiA Centre of Engineering and Product Development.

With experience in providing legal advisory services in the scope of technology-based transactions and in IP, Digital, Technology, TMT, Data Protection and Digital Transformation issues, Jacinto has also been actively involved in several projects related to electric mobility , smart cities, innovation and R&D projects, remote systems (UAVs), IoT, IA, VR / AR, blockchain, among others, and particularly in the energy and FINTECH sectors.
